The Face Behind the Camera

Hello, I'm Holly, and I'm the creative force behind Holly Freja Pet Photography. Originally hailing from Essex, I embarked on a new adventure in 2022 when I relocated to the town of Warrington in the heart of the North-West.

My profound affection for dogs and a genuine adoration for all animals sparked my passion for pet photography. Growing up with beloved canine companions, I've come to understand the immense value of the time and memories we share with our furry friends.

My journey as a photographer began in the realms of school photography, where I started as a quality control assistant and ventured into the art of editing school portraits. This laid the foundation for my career, and I honed my skills further working for an Ironmongery company, capturing a myriad of products for various purposes – print, web, and social media.

My professional journey led me to a wholesale gift and retail supplier in Manchester, where I excelled in photographing e-commerce and lifestyle imagery. These diverse experiences spanning over the last 7 years have been instrumental in shaping the photographer I am today. It's an absolute joy to merge my well-honed skills and artistic flair to create exquisite, professional images of your cherished four-legged companions.

And Then…

Ethan and I have been together since 2022, and got engaged in March of 2023. He began accompanying me on shoots when we got together and is now my right-hand man! Ethan assists me on most shoots, and is an invaluable asset to Holly Freja Photography. He helps with the setup and takedown of equipment, posing of pets, and is now known as ‘chief puppy wrangler’ when we photograph litters.

What Happens on the Day?

One of the wonderful aspects of a pet photography session with me is the convenience I offer by bringing the entire photography experience to your doorstep. Instead of the stress and commotion of transporting your cherished pet to an unfamiliar location, I provide a personalised and comfortable in-home photography experience.

When I arrive at your home, I come equipped with my portable studio, ready to capture stunning portraits in the familiar and comforting environment of your own space. This approach ensures that your pet is at ease, resulting in more relaxed and natural photographs. It's truly a "home sweet home" experience for both you and your furry friend.

During the session, I bring along two backdrop options, allowing you to choose the perfect setting that complements your pet's personality and your vision for the photos. These backdrops serve as the canvas upon which we'll create captivating images that capture the unique essence of your pet.

Moreover, your input and personal touch are not only welcome but highly encouraged. If you have special props, outfits, or accessories that you'd like to include in the photoshoot, I'm more than happy to accommodate your preferences. This personalisation adds an extra layer of uniqueness to the session, making the photographs truly one-of-a-kind.

Before we begin capturing those special moments, I take the time to get to know you and your pet. Building this connection is essential to ensure a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere throughout the photoshoot. The emphasis is always on making the session as stress-free and enjoyable as possible. With my expertise and dedication, I aim to create a memorable and heartwarming photographic journey that celebrates the joy, love, and companionship you and your pet share in the comfort of your own home.

I went on Monday with my very wild 1 year old dachshund who has selective hearing at the best of times, let alone when you want him to sit in one place! Holly took her time with him and let him get to know the place and have a sniff round and play with her dogs toys! She gave me options for different back drop colours which was really good as I was able to chose ones that would work well on my green walls at home and also match my wedding colours! She had a box full of accessories that we could use to get different themed photos too. Holly is so loving with dogs and you can tell how much she loves them and loves what she does.
